From the ENTRANCE of the SANANWAN building turn to your left and walk towards the public ROAD. Diagonally on your right is a motorcycle stand if you wish to risk a motor cycle taxi.
1.Turn left at this ROAD and walk towards the WAT YAI, over a bridge crossing the small CANAL.
2.At the CROSSROADS cross diagonally to your right. There a songteow will pick you up and for 6 - 8 baht take you out to the MAIN BANGNA-TRAT HIGHWAY. 100 metres before the MAIN HIGHWAY is the post office on your left.
3.Get off the songteow at the MAIN HIGHWAY and cross diagonally to your right and there is a bus stop under the footbridge over the BANGNA-TRAT HIGHWAY.
4.From that bus stop: 365 will take you to the CENTRAL department store complex and BIG C-2, 133 and 537 to the SERI CENTRE and SEACOM (SEACOM includes TESCO LOTUS -2) complexes. 132 to ON NUT. All pass TESCO LOTUS -1. If you cross the footbridge over the MAIN HIGHWAY, air conditioned blue buses will take you to EASTERN destinations such as Pattaya. You will have to make yourself obvious when you wave them to stop!
5.At ON NUT is TESCO LOTUS -3. It is also the first station on the line to go into BANGKOK on the SKY TRAIN. Go to MONUMENT and get a taxi if you want to go to the SOUTHERN bus terminal. Go to the other end of the line to MO CHIT and get a taxi for the NORTHERN bus terminal or old DON MUANG AIRPORT. Ask for a map when you buy your SKY TRAIN ticket and purchase an all-day ticket (currently 100 Baht) if you plan to take four or more individual journeys.
6.The local BIG C -1 is easily walkable. (15 minutes). At CROSSROADS turn left then turn right in 100 metres into the WAT YAI. Diagonally cross the “quadrangle” to the river bank. Follow the river bank through the “FLOATING MARKETS” along and cross over a small bridge - staying on the same side of the main river, until you reach a crossing point of two timber “ferries”. Pay 1 baht on your left and cross the river into the CIG C -1 car park and shopping complex.
7.When lost locally, ask for: “WAT YAI BANG PHLI”, otherwise phone.
Phone numbers for assistance:
IF IT IS YOUR FIRST VISIT TO BB GUESTHOUSE OR SANANWAN PALACE AND YOU ARE TRAVELLING WITH LUGGAGE, IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU TRAVEL BY SKYTRAIN TO ON-NUT AND THEN TAKE A TAXI FOR ABOUT 150 BAHT.
The only bus that travels without a bus change to the BangPli exit of the Bangna-Trat Highway is the regular bus 132 (an old red bus). The Bang Pli (Suun Wat) exit is difficult to locate without assistance until you know it well. Occassionally you can flag down a long distance air-conditioned bus heading to ChonBuri, Pattaya, Trat, etc, which will drop you at BangPli, but this is not common. You can take several other buses to the Central Shopping Complex BangNa, where you can connect with a green 365.
THE NAUTICAL ALTERNATIVE:
A much more pleasant, though longer and less economical way of reaching BangPli is to travel by the tourist ferry down the Chao Phraya River from central Bangkok to PakNam at the river mouth in Samut Prakarn. From there you can get a taxi to Sananwan Palace. Or you can make this a one day round trip from Sananwan Palace.
SUVANABHUMI TO SANANWAN PLACE BY BUS
SUVANABHUMI AIRPORT ARRIVAL
Arriving at SUVANABHUMI take the shuttle to the bus terminal which is about 1 km distant and still well within the airport area.
(Note: The internal airport shuttle bus stop is difficult to find as it is not well signed. Follow the signs on the arrivals floor, level 2, to the taxi stand. This is the only exit door available on this level. The ALL GREEN taxis are best to catch if you want to take a taxi. To get to the Shuttle bus stop cross the road past the taxis to the road where there is a mini bus pickup point. Turn to your left and follow the sidewalk until approximately level to Gate 5. Here you will see the sign for the AOT Airport Shuttle Bus, a free service to take you to the internal bus terminal. Buses arrive about every 3 minutes.)
Regular buses go into the city from the bus terminal.
To get to SANANWAN PALACE, take the 552. Its destination is ON-Nut, the first Sky Train station. But you are not going all the way there.
The bus follows beside the airport runway then on to the main hightway(approx 8-10 km) where it turns right(the airport area is huge complex). About one and half km along this main hightway into Bangkok you arrive at the Tesco HomePro centre. Tell the conductor you want "Tesco HomePro". This wording should be identifiable. Alight from the bus.
For your first visit: With your map showing Sananwan Palace take a taxi for the final 3 km. Sananwan Palace is less than one km from BIG C and 300 metres from Wat Yai Bangpli. Ask the taxi driver to put the meter "ON".
Alternatively the local bus "two rows" will take you to BIG C and the Wat Yai. Then walk or motocycle taxi the last short distance.
There is a "Stop" on the main highway immediately BEFORE "Tesco HomePro" which is slightly closer but less identifiable. The taxi ride or local bus is nearer to Sananwan Palace.
If stuck phone Wi Lai Wan 0818644615. The taxi driver usually has a mobile phone and will help.
